What Is The Treatment For Depression?

I feel odd writing this I'm a Mental Health student nurse and I have a daughter who has recently turned 13, I'm usually very organised on top of my studies, house is emaculate and I keep myself well. Since Jessica's birthday I've been feeling really low, tearful sad, I suspect it's mild depression but as I have soo much going on at the moment can only see my GP next week do you think it sounds like it?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

You are working in mental hospital as student nurse and this can cause stress to your functioning. Since the birthday of your daughter you are feeling low, tearful and sad. This could be due to occupational impact, a lot of individuals develop depressive symptoms while working in mental health. If such symptoms cause impairment to your functioning or persist then consult a psychiatrist for help to rule out mild depression.

Try to take breaks while reading or doing work. Sleep well for at least 7-8 hours a day. Don't take alcohol or any brain depressant substance. Take meals rich in proteins and complex carbs and low in fats. Exercise daily and try relaxation exercises to keep yourself healthy.

Thanks
