What Is The Treatment For Encepalomalcia?

my mother in-law has just been told she has encephalomlacia. what can we expect for her treatment if there is one, and how long does she have before it gets worse? her entire front of her brain is effected and on the mri, most of what was shown was already white in color. I never heard of this before, any help u can give would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

This MRI finding is suggestive of an old stroke or damage to the brain. This is not a progressive disorder of the brain. What are her symptoms? What is her past medical history and age? So, the main thing to do is to find the possible cause of the stroke (if there is no history of past brain trauma) and take the proper therapy (blood thinners) in order to prevent future events, which could aggravate the situation. You should discuss with her doctor on the above issues.
