Hello, Erectile Dysfunction is a relatively common problem and more often than not it is due to Psychological factors rather than any organic cause. Before performing Sexual intercourse the mood of the patient plays a big role. Both Depression as well as Anxiety can hamper the mood resulting in such a problem. Also Sexual history is a key factor especially Multiple Sexual Partners. Both Diabetes mellitus and Hypertension has been associated with Erectile Dysfunction. However Organic causes are needed to be searched. Following Blood tests may help to exclude any organic cause- Testosterone, SHBG, Luteinising hormone, Prolactin, Thyroid stimulating hormone, Lipid profile, Fasting and Post prandial Blood sugar, Prostate specific antigen. If the results of the investigations are normal then you need to consult your nearest Psychologist for sexual counselling.
