Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
I understand your concern. I am Dr Alok Sinha, MD Psychiatry from India. I will try to help you with best of my effort.

As you revealed you are suffering from last two years. You are having poor sexual desire and also poor erection.
Firstly I want to educate you a little about sexual function in male. There are different phases of sexual activities. First phase is called desire phase, in which the person feels drive to have sex, second phase is erection, third phase is penetration and copulation, fourth phase is ejaculation and orgasm and the final one is relaxation after achieving orgasm. Each of these phase is closely related to mental activities. Mind has strong role in preparing body for sex. If due to any reason, mind is not well, it may hamper sexual activities. For example if your mind is pre-occupied with worries or stress, you will have no/ little desire for sex. Whenever it happens, it causes further worries related to sexual dysfunction. Further worries and anticipatory fear of failure further deteriorates the sexual function. This may lead to depression or can aggravate the already existing depressive thinking. Thus a vicious cycle is started.
In a young person like you, the most common cause of low desire and poor erection is depression. As you accept yourself being depressed since long.
Long lasting stress/depression causes certain changes in brain neurotransmitters and neurohormones (Hyper cortisol state), which in turn is responsible for low desire for sex.
If a person like you comes to me, I evaluate him in detail for features of depression like sadness of mood, reduced pleasure in pleasurable activities, reduced energy, preference for loneliness, reduced confidence, reduced self esteem, guilt (thinking himself responsible for all the wrong things happened), bleak view of future, hopelessness & helplessness feeling, and even feeling that the life is not worth living (better to die than living).
I strongly suggest you to consult a psychiatrist in your locality who may prescribe some antidepressant medicines and start psychotherapy for you cure. Believe me, you will be alright with psychiatric therapy very soon.
Hope this answers your question. I wish you all the best.
