I have foot pain on the top of left with swelling X 2 weeks. I had injury in the same place one year ago. HAD a cast and foot doctor wanted to fuse my foot. Went to ortho , he said no on surgery and after 6 weeks was better. Had cast for 10 days than walking boot. SO now it is bad again no apparent injury. HOPING you can give me ideas. Thank you for the question.Post plaster cast swelling and pain often happen. Take excedrin twice a day after meals for few days.Do hot water fomentation and keep your foot elevated on a stool or chair in sitting or over cushions and pillows on lying down.Do gentle toe and ankle movement active exercises 5 minutes 2 hourly.take help of a walking stick in opposite hand to take off weight on affected foot during forward stance. you are welcome for further advise if you may
