Hello Dear user:
I have gone through your question.

Hashimoto encephalopathy (HE) is an uncommon syndrome associated with Hashimoto thyroid, also known as steroid responsive encephalopathy associated with autoimmune thyroiditis (SREAT)

Did you perscritive what you feel?
Did you feel? :
Dysphasia/aphasia , confusion, tremor, any psychosis, headache, sleep disorders. Difficult finding word any visual chanches?

I must to know please if you have lab test for thyroid profil :TSH, Ft4, Ft3 anti –TPO and anti-Tg? Thyroid Profile in most patients is euthyroid or subclinical hypothyroid.

It is nesesery to check:
-Erythrocyte sedimentation
-Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) anti-TPO antibodies in the CSF, anti-Tg.
-Electroencephalogram
- Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)
Your concurn is how to treat this pathology;
•     Initial treatment is usually with oral prednisone (50–150 mg/day) or high-dose IV methylprednisolone (1 g/day) for 3–7 days.
•     Thyroid hormone treatment is also included if required.(after thyroid hormone levels)
•     Some times Is produced a variety of alternative treatments including azathioprine, cyclophosphamide, chloroquine, methotrexate, periodic intravenous immunoglobulin and plasma exchange.
•     In epileptic episode the situate are controlled with typical antiepileptic agents.
My advice is to consult an endocrinologist and neurolog after you have all lab test .
So your doctor will have the necessary information to deduct about your problem.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you for using HCM.
Best regards
Dr Klodiana Poshi
