What Is The Treatment For Heartburn And Hernia?

I am 64 years old and have had problems with heartburn for years. I do have a small hiatal hernia also. I take 20 mg. of omerprozole daily but sometimes this doesn't take care of the heartburn. Lately I feel like there is always an air bubble in my throat; then, I burp and it is still there. It is very annoying. I am 5'2" tall and weigh 165 pounds.

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

Hiatal hernia patients may be more prone for GERD. Again it is divided into sliding and non sliding hernia. Avoid spicy food and alcohol, tab. Nexium before breakfast, eat less at night, make head end elevation. If symptoms not improved please consult your surgeon, he will plan and treat you according to severity of hiatal hernia.

Take care
