I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at the hospital they took all kinds of blood test to check for infections or not enough protien etc, they can back and said I tested negative for infections and i am getting enough protein. She saidf sometimes your thyroid just poops out. When she said she was checking for infections was that blood test able to check for chlamydia or gonnorhea? When she said no infections did that cancel out STD's???
Hello, I have gone carefully through your concern. There is a viral infection that affects the tyroid gland, causing temporary hyperthyroidism that does not need treatment. It is confirmed by checking ESR and protein C reactive. Chlamydia and gonorrhea do not cause hyperthyroidism. Hope the information will help. Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
