What Is The Treatment For Indigestion, back Pain, pain And Stiffness In The Legs Along With Shortness Of Breath?

I have been experiencing my knees swelling on and off for about a year, started with one now both, the swelling goes down the front of the leg, my legs are very stiff does not go down even after rest, there s pain on the side of my knees the bone feels like a bruise if I press it and discomfort if I sit crossed leg and pain and stiffness when I try to straighten my legs after sitting crossed leg. it stays like this for a week or two, goes away for a while then out of no where returns a little worse everytime. This time round I have been feeling like I have indigestion burn in my chest, lower back pain, and a little very little short of breath even though I am lying down and had no physical activity..maybe you can help...the legs are tight behind my knee.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Experiencing swelling of knees is indicating for inflammation inside knee joint, most probably due to:
- arthritis
- trauma (recent injury)

Further evaluation by rheumatologist and orthopedist is needed together with X-ray of the knee.

The feeling of indigestion burn in your chest is indicating :
- gastritis
- GERD

for which specific treatment is needed:
- PPIs (omeprazole, pantoprazole)
- antacids
- diet/lifestyle changes.
- avoid NSAIDs (e.g. ibuprofen, aspirin, diclophenac, etc) that can aggravate your symptoms.

Hope it helped!
