After co-relating the facts of your clinical history it appears as you may be having any of these which are responsible for persisting infection in ear canal- a- Diabetes. b- Wax or debris in the canal. c- Associated fungus infection. d- Accumulated pus in the canal. In cases of otitis externa it is necessary to clean the ear canal prior to instilling ear drop to get the desired effect. sometimes self cleaning of ear does not cleans well so it will be better to consult ENT doctor for ear cleaning and also to rule out perforation in the ear drum.
