Hi,
PCOD is an ovulation disorder and periods are irregular because of this. Polycystic ovaries have different types of treatment In beginning we try to regulate cycle with cyclical hormonal therapy and many times after this ovulation starts spontaneously. But for that you have to take treatment regularly with no breaks in between. If this does not work, your doctor would shift to another type of treatments one by one. The last one being surgery. Don't worry, you would get rid of the problem with one of the therapy and would lead a normal life there after.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
