What Is The Treatment For Loose Motion For A 15 Month Old Baby?

Hi, my niece is having loss motion since last 4 day and its very frequent. Good doctor is not available where she live. My niece is 15month old. Can you please suggest any medicine or injection by which she can be relived? Its kind of urgent please help

I think it is important to provide enough hydration to your child. Offer her Oral rehydration solution and ensure she drink enough fluid. As long she is not vomiting hydration is important. Donot offer just plain water as this will lower the salt levels in her blood and cause other complication. You can buy ORS packets and make the solution at home with boiled, cooled water (Usually you add 1 sachet to 200 milli litres of boiled, cooled water). Give small amount frequently. Strongly advice against antibiotics, as some bacteria can cause kidney problems.
