What Is The Treatment For Pain In The Anus?

Hi, I just noticed my anus has started to hurt for the past few weeks and upon inspection I noticed a purple ring around my anus. I do participate in regular anal intercourse with my monogamous partner, but the pain has made it difficult. I have also noticed that my bowel movements feel as though they are not complete all the time so it could be from straining but I would like to take care of this because it is sometimes painful and irritated when I wipe and have receptive intercourse.

Hi and thank you for asking!

The first thing to do is to avoid receiving anal intercourse for 2-4 weeks. This is the needed time of healing for damaged anal sphincters and mucosa.

I would suggest to use preparation H and to contact a proctologist for further examinations.

Wish you health.
