What Is The Treatment For Palmo Plantar Pustulosis And Psoriatic Arthritis?
Hi, My name is Janet. I recently was diagnosed with Palmo Plantar Pustulosis and Psoriatic Arthritis. I understand what PPP is and also what PA is, what I would like to know is how a rheumatologist would treat my disease and the horrific pain associated with it. any Ideas would be appreciated
In your case I would suggest the treatment with Methorexat 15 mg/week s.c. and Cyclosporine 1.25 mg/kg p.o.BID for 6 weeks. In this case, you should ALWAYS MONITOR the levels of liver enzymes (AST, ALT, GGT) and kidney function (GFR, creatinemia and uremia) every 3 (three) weeks plus a complete blood count on the 4th week in order to monitor for possible adverse effects of the above mentioned therapy; while for the pain I would suggest to use Naproxen 250mg p.o. BID for 14 days. On the other hand you should not discontinue greasiest ointments several times a day to prevent dryness and itching of the skin and to act as a barrier as well as steroid creams and/or tar ointments that reduce inflammation in the skin.
