What Is The Treatment For Persistent Sore Throat?

I've had a sore throat for about a month now. I have no other symptoms (eg. Fever, headaches, or congestion). The sore throat shifts from one side to another every other day and I don't feel congested. What's causing this persistent sore throat and what can I do to get rid of it?
