Hello
Your dad were diagnosed as a patient of pneumonia and took treatment for 14 days but still cough and phlegm present.
Your dad took amoxycillin and other antibiotics .
Cough and phlegm may be due to these reasons.
1 Tuberculosis , as this is most common cause of phlegm and cough particularly post pneumonitis ( pneumonia ) cases. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest , blood for C B C, E S R .Sputum examination for A F B.
2 Allergic bronchitis may be the next reason . Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical as well clinical examination by a physician .
3 Bronchiectasis is another reason of such infections . Get in Xray chest as well sputum examination.
There are so many other reasons of such symptoms as pneumonia ( not resolved ) , asthma , rhinitis ( allergic ).
In my opinion consult a primary care physician and get his opinion.
