What Is The Treatment For Rheumatoid Arthritis?

My brother was diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis, he has had a lot of problems with the pain and his legs go numb at times and very weak, can not stand up for any lenth of time and sometimes can not stand at all. Went to the Dr and is now on medication (don't know the name) then last night he had black spots appear. Freaked him out as our father lost both legs to the same disease? any ideas?

NSAIDs, DMARDs (disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs) are sometimes prescribed in severe cases.
