What Is The Treatment For Severe UTI?
For the last few months on occasion* it will be very painful to pee in the mornings. Very bad buring sensation. I drink A LOT of redbulls and saw that caffine can cause UTIs. So i cuy back some* but not completely. Also ive noticed sometimes the urine will be cloudy or have a weird odor. My husband and I are trying to concieve without luck. We have been trying for 4 to 5 months now. At this point in time with the insurance change, we no longer have any for the moment. Going back on topic, the last 2 weeks the pain when urination has become increasingly worse. Seems like every year when i go for my pap smear i always have a bacterial infection. Last year they said i had a severe UTI and gave me antibotics. Took them like i was directed but felt as if the problem never fully went away. Could i be pregnant and it not show up on a test? Does it sound like a UTI? And can you have a bacterial infection with a UTI? Going to stop drinking redbull all together and drink more water, but still would like some input. Thanks.

looks like you are having a uti.it is caused by bacteria most of the times.
Most of the time you will need to take antibiotic to prevent the infection from spreading to the kidneys.
For a simple bladder infection, you will take antibiotics for 3 days (women) or 7 - 14 days (men).
For a bladder infection with complications -- such as pregnancy or diabetes, OR a mild kidney infection -- you will usually take antibiotics for 7 - 14 days.
Be sure to finish all of the antibiotics, even if you feel better. If you do not finish the whole dose of medicine, the infection may return and be harder to treat later.
Always drink plenty of water when you have a bladder or kidney infection.
Commonly used antibiotics include trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, amoxicillin, Augmentin, doxycycline, and fluoroquinolones. (Tell your health care provider if you might be pregnant before taking these drugs.)
