What Is The Treatment For Severe Cough While On Medication For GERD?

I have a terrible cough that comes from a drip in the back of my throat. So severe I have to cough several times then it gags me. I also have GERD . Take dr melds for that . It has not much color to no color ! My eyes run terrible also. Just would like something to control this. Can you help me ?

Thanks for posting your query.

Watery eyes , post nasal drip and cough all indicate Allergy. Allergy could be due to dust, smoke or food. You need to avoid dust and smoke as much as possible. Keep your room very clean.

Also a condition called Eosinophilia can cause these symptoms . In that regard I advise you to get Absolute Eosinophil count, Serum IgE levels and revert back with reports.

Till you get the reports you can use anti allergic medicine like Levocetrizine and cough syrup like Tus Q X . Also do salt water gargling 3-4 times a day ,drink hot water, Avoid Non veg and oily food . Avoid Citrus Fruits.
