What Is The Treatment For Shoulder Pain?

My shoulder is in a lot of pain. It does not hurt to raise my arm. But it hurts to move my arm front to back. It is almost impossible for me to put my hand on my hip. I've taken 3 Advil but it has not touched the pain. What woudl you recommend? Thank you!

Hi,
Causes of such sorts of pain are mechanical, infectious, and inflammatory. It would have been helpful if you had given information regarding any warmth or color changes around that shoulder. First in consideration would be Frozen shoulder followed by inflammatory arthritis and then septic arthritis. It is advisable to do plain X rays AP and lateral, of your affected shouhder and some blood tests like Full blood count, RA factor, Uric acid, ESR and CRP. If it is swollen get a synovial fluid aspiration and R/E done. For pain relief Diclofenac tab 50 mg morning and evening after meals with omeprazole 40 mg is suggested.
