The Monday before Thanksgiving I had a sore throat, the next day a raspy voice, the 3rd day a fever of 101.4, chills, etc. that just lasted that day. After that it felt more like a cold. it was 90-95% better and then I got sick again. Felt like a cold but from the beginning the cough was different from any cough. It sounded like a smokers cough (I don t smoke) and wheezing. After a little over 3 weeks of this I went to the doctor who said I had bronchitis & prescribed a z-pack & inhaler. It is now 6 days later and I am coughing less and the wheezing isn t quite as bad but it is still there and coughing up phlegm that is light yellow. I have always been active, work out 3x a week even taking high intensity classes such as Insanity and never had any issues with shortness of breath, asthma, etc.. Forgot to mention I am 41 yr old female. Also, my maternal grandfather died of lung cancer at 61 but my mom said he worked in a plant that had asbestos and he smoked cigars. I m worried that it is lung cancer since I have not been sick like this before and I know it is not uncommon for nonsmokers to get lung cancer.
