What Is The Treatment For The High Value Of Auto Immune Disease?

Hi, I have just had some blood tests for auto immune disease the ana came back as 2560 when it should be less the 80. I am unable to see a specialist for 6 mths. I am tired, fatigued, occasional butterfly rash, rash on my shouders for 3 months, sometimes my vision feel fuzzy, my thigh bones feel as though they are frozen (throbbing pain) about twice a week, today i woke up with what feels like tonsilitis, i feel like crap. I have alway been fit and healthy. I used to walk 10ks a day but over the last 12 months I just cant do it, tired. The doc seems to think it is SLE, but he is doing nothing to help. What can i do?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for the query.
It is very likely that you have SLE. Your symptoms are suggestive . You should do anti double stranded DNA antibodies as they are highly specific for SLE; they are present in 70% of cases, whereas they appear in only 0.5% of people without SLE. The anti-dsDNA antibody titers also tend to reflect disease activity.
You should see a specialist in Internal medicine as early as possible and start treatment. SLE most often harms the heart, joints, skin, lungs, blood vessels, liver, kidneys, and nervous system. The course of the disease is unpredictable and early treatment decreases the damage.
If you have further queries, I am available at the HCM website.
