What Is The Treatment For The Increased Echogenicity In The Renal Cortex?

A recent abdominal untrasound showed some increased echogenicity in the right renal cortex - no stones. Left kidney looks fine. I tend to not take in enough fluids, but I am working on it. My BUN = 39 and my creatinine = 1.50. I am a diabetic but have my A1c under control - less than 5.7. What do I need to do?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir i can understand your concern
in my opinion your renal enzymes are slightly elevated
I am very happy to see that your diabetes is very well under control.
i suggest you to consider doing some further testing to rule out renal problem.
1......24 hrs urine estimation
2......urine microalbumin
3......24 hrs urine protein excretion.
4......GFR estimation
in some people its normal to have the creatinine to be on slightly higher side and it varies with diet also.
Hope I was able to help you.
If you have any further question feel free to write me back. I will be happy to help.
Take care.
Best Regards.
