What Is The Treatment For The Possibility Of The Underlying Adenomyosis?
Pelvic ultrasound states that the myometrium appears rather heterogenous raising the possiblity of underlying adenomyosis. Previously diagnosed with endometriosis which was excised 12 months ago. Doctor says I should wait 12 months before further investigation regarding infertility
Hi, Thanks for posting your query. I have gone through it and understood your concern. I would like to offer some suggestions. Infertility can be caused by adenomyosis, though it is difficult to specify since endometriosis is an associated feature in most cases. The management depends on the extent of infiltration of the uterine musculature, the need for reproduction, associated complications like cysts on the ovary etc. Medical management comprised anti-inflammatory drugs and hormones while uterine artery embolization and endometrial ablation are the available surgical methods. It is true that you may have to wait util your adenomyosis is contained to allow reproduction to proceed properly. Hope this helps.
