x-ray revealed mild foraminal encroachment at C5-C6 bilaterally, and moderate foraminal encroachment C6-C7, on the left and straightening of the cervical lordosis. I have severe pain in my left side of neck, scapula area and shoulder with some numbness and tingling down my left arms especially in my left index finger and thumb. ? Causes and treatment
Hello, Thanks for the concern. Your xray report of cervical shows decrease in inter vertebral space of c4 and c5 also c5& c6 which causes compression of nerve more of left side which leads to pain in left shoulder and tingling sensation. For this you should decrease the movement of neck.give rest to your neck. You can use cervical collar which will kelp in pain. Hot compresses on neck twice daily will help you and avoid lifting heavy weights and also avoid two wheeler vehicle if you are driving. For pain you can take painkillers with serretopeptidase, also you should take combination of methylcobalamine with gabapentin once daily for at least 20 days for tingling sensation. Once pain is relieved you should learn neck exercise under guidance of physiotherapist. It can be better diagnosed by ctscan and MRI of cervical region. So it's better that you must immediately consult your orthopaedic surgeon, get thoroughly investigated and start treatment accordingly. Hope this might help you. Take care
