What Is The Treatment For Unbearable Headache?

I have been experiencing extremely intense ice pick headaches, every few seconds (about 10 seconds apart, at most 30 seconds) for more than 19 hours, non stop. Have tried ice pack on head, Advil, Tylenol - with no relief. Do not know what to do, the pain has become so unbearable.

I have gone through the query and believe that you have a migraine or another type of headache. Since you say that this headache is very very painful, I want to confirm if this is the worst headache you have had.

If this is the worst headache you have ever had, then you need to get to a Doctor or to the ER as soon as possible. It is possible that you have a sub-arachnoid aneurysm which can bleed at any time and cause death.

This is a possibility but it is best to rule it out.

If this is not the case, then you can try the following:
- Drink lots of water
- Inhale steam to clear the nasal passages
- Take 1 Paracetamol 500 mg tablet every 6 hours
- Sleep for 8 hours.
