What Is The Treatment For Urine Odor?

MY QUESTION IS THAT I HAVE NOTICED A REALLY STRONG URINE SMELL WHEN I GO TO THE BATHROOM.I s not an amonia smell.(sorry splelled it wrong) I drink, I believe a really good amount of water and every once in awhile a soda. I have Lupus and have had it since I was 14yrs old and now I am 59. I would like to know what else could cause it?

Dear-thanks for using our service, I read your question in detail. The urine could have proteins and ketones that can give this strong odor. There is always a possibility of urine infection, so I advise you to have an urine sample for analysis and culture. If you have Lupus, you could have some renal insufficiency secondary to the illness and that can have proteins and oxalates in the urine.I also recommend you to have a renal ultrasound for a complete evaluation. Please hit thanks if I was helpful.
