What Is The Treatment For Vaginal Itching, Burning Sensation, Continuous Bleeding? Positive Pap Smear, Depo Injections Unsuccessful

Hi, I have vaginal itching burning pain with bumps and unexplained bleeding. I haven't had sexual intercourse in 9 months so far, the painful itching burning sensation began these past 2-3 weeks. I've had a Pap smear exam 6 months ago and they found abnormal cells. I don't know what's going on. I'm getting depo shots since June 2013 because I was bleeding everyday for a couple months but the depo shot has not helped my bleeding stop.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The presence of vaginal itching and burning sensation with can be due to infectious cause.
There are a number of sexually transmitted diseases which can lead to itching, vaginal discharge, bumps etc. on the external genitalia.
In case, there is associated vaginal discharge you need to get it examined to look for evidence of infection.
Isolation of infectious agent requires appropriate antibiotic therapy.

Detection of abnormal cells on Pap test indicates some cancerous process developing in the cervix.
This could be a cause of abnormal vaginal bleeding.
You need to get a cervical biopsy done to look at the condition of the cervix.
If there is development of cancerous process or pre=cancerous process in the cervix, appropriate measures need to be taken.

Thanks and take care
