What Is The Treatment For Wart In The Finger During Breastfeeding?

Hi,

Before i got pregnant i had a wart on my finger, since pregnancy it has now spread to two other fingers on same hand. Should i cover these to protect my new born baby, due to give birth in four weeks and what treatment should i use to get rid of them and what treatment won't effect breastfeeding?

You should get the warts examined by a dermatologist. The possibilities to consider are 1. fungal infection 2. benign nevus 3. malignant lesions. Unless it is a fungal infection, there is no possibility to spread to the child but I would emphasize of the significance of getting it examined. It is hard to comment on the nature of treatment without knowing for certain what the warts are actually. Naturally it is not possible to determine whether it will have adverse effects on your breast feeding.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology Dr. Sumanth Amperayani's  Response
Hi....
1. You have to cover these warts while you are handling the baby as it can spread to the baby.
2. Best treatment is laser therapy and the dermatologist will the best professional to do it.
3. It wont affect the breast feeding.
