Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I've had a persisting foot (heel) pain for over 8 months. The sides of heel and the bottom also. I tend to limp when I walk because my left foot hurts. It is not a matter of shoes because I have tried all kinds of comfortable shoes. I used ice packs to relieve the pain and it helped a little, but the pain never goes away. At first, it hurt the most in the mornings when I woke up and got on to my feet. I felt like all the blood was rushing to my foot. Now it is much better, but it has not completely healed. I am always on my feet everyday at work, so it is impossible to be sitting all the time for it to heal. Are there any way for a complete treatment?
Dear Sir/Mam, The symptoms you are complaining about are classical of plantar fascitis. Plantar fascia is membrane which covers the muscles on your soles. This gets inflamed in different conditions especially in patients with diabetes. The best treatment for this remains footwear modification, analgesics and rest. If this is not helping then sittings of shockwave therapy will help. Hope this has helped you.
