General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
You only mentioned that you had 1:2 reaction on blood test.
Read this carefully and , you will all answers :
Nontreponemal is more SENSITIVE , less specific:
Can be NEGATIVE in primary syphilis in up to 30 % but almost always POSITIVE in SECONDARY syphilis.
While treponemal test is directed against specific treponemal antigens , this is more specific than nontreponemal test and mainly used for CONFIRMATION.
Once POSITIVE , these usually remain POSITIVE for life but 15% to 25 % of patients if treated in PRIMARY STAGE may become SEROLOGICALLY NON-REACTIVE in 2 to 3 years.
So , please clearly mention when you got this infection , when treatment started ( which stage ) .
Now what is clinical condition.
Hope I have answered your question.
Cheaper treatment I don't know.
I find this answer helpful
