ROPINIROLE is a potent
dopamine agonist medication that is used in the treatment of
restless leg syndrome and Parkinson's Disease. In case of restless leg syndrom Ropinirole may improve your sleep by decreasing the urge to move your legs as well as decreasing the uncomfortable or unpleasant feelings in the legs so that you can go to sleep. In brief, it works by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance which is the dopamine in the brain.
As for its side effects, it may cause the following side effects:
- It may cause you to be a little sleepy during the day or what's known as somnolence where you might fall asleep during activities of daily living.
- There are some other commonly reported side effects of ropinirole such as syncope, dizziness, drowsiness, dyskinesia, fatigue, nausea,
orthostatic hypotension, viral infection, decreased blood pressure, decreased pulse, and increased pulse.
- You should take notice of any of the following side effects and consult your doctor if you experienced any of them, such as;
Confusion, dizziness, faintness, or
lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position suddenly, drowsiness, falling, nausea, seeing or hearing, or feeling things that are not there (

swelling of the legs
twisting, twitching, or any other unusual body movements
unusual tiredness or weakness
As for Trazodone, it's a different drug which is an antidepressant which is used mainly in treatment of depression and
major depressive disorder and prescribed off label to treat insomnia.
