What Is The Use Of Barium Enema?
I had an colonoscopy done today and my doctor ordered a barium enema. the assistants didn t tell me much i was very sleepy walked me out ??? I was so confuse. WTH I couldn t believe it. why would he order me a barium enema when I just completed a colonoscopy and not tell me the reasons???? just get out?? HUH

well barium enema is a type of special xray of the intestine, to be specific the large intestine. barium is a contrast material which is inserted through the anus via an enema and the movement of the dye or the contrast is monitored via periodical xrays.
it measures the passage of the dye through intestine. it can find out any filling defects etc and any growth, obstruction etc can be easily found out.
