What Is The Use Of Champix?

I took Champix a few years ago and was successful and had quit smoking for a year and a half. I started smoking again however and decided to get another prescription for Champix because I know it works. I am now on day 5. My question is how does it work exactly. Every explanation out there seems rather vague.

Thank you, CLC

Hi
Thanks for choosing healthcare magic

Varenicline is a nicotinic receptor partial agonist—it stimulates nicotine receptors more weakly than nicotine itself does. Thus varenicline does not greatly increase the downstream release of dopamine. Due to its competitive binding on these receptors, varenicline blocks the ability of nicotine to bind and stimulate the mesolimbic dopamine system. Its help to control craving due to continue presence of dopamine at mesolimbic system

Thanks
