Hi,thanks for query,you have not mentioned the site of lump,but I think as this question is in dental category she might be having this in her gums.At times when there is impaction of food particle of some infection of gums ,a lump can develop.She needs examination by dentist and treatment for same,which may include antibiotics.Ask her to take soft diet.bye.

A swelling could be an infection of any tooth. A decayed tooth could have reulted in the problem Consult your dentist who can determine the infected tooth and do the needful treatment.

where was the lump, when it is painful? was there any pus? explain clearly. if it is localised in a particular tooth then take a x ray of that tooth and get it treated accordingly.. take care
