Sorry to hear about your disease. As a whole, the prognosis and survival of non-
small cell cancer are much better the small cell.
The statistics you mentioned are quite right, as stage 2, the medial survival is 2 to 3 years but 30 per cent survive up to 5 years.
Treatment of non-small cell
lung cancer is surgery as it may be curative in the initial stages ( stage 1 and early stage 2).
In such cases, no
chemotherapy be needed until the tumour could be removed cleanly.
The chemotherapy contains complex, multi drugs regimes given for four cycles.
