What Laboratory Tests Are Conducted In Sexually Transmitted Infections?

my friend Evgenia (she is from Russia) looking for:

Clinic or hospital in New Delhi for : Full/total/complete STD test (Sexually Transmitted Disease).

Please could you ask how many various infections include this laboratory full test? and how much it costs ?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

All the STDs can not be covered with blood investigations as there are more than 25 STDs. Certain of them has no blood tests.
1. Test for Syphilis-- RPR and TPHA
2. Gonorrhea-- Smear test and culture and sensitivity test.
3 Chlamydia -- Blood test available
4 Herpes simplex Type 2 -- Blood test available
5 and 6 Tests for Hepatitis B and C
7. Test for HIV -
These tests have to be done in appropriate time with the guidance of a physician.
AIIMS or Safdarjung hospital are the best places to be approached in New Delhi for HIV physicians and for tests.
The cost may vary with hospitals ranging between INR 2000- 2500.
