What Leads To Chronic Headache, fatigue And Dizziness While Having Stelara And Mirena?

My wife is a 41 yr. old female causasian, generally healthy. Has chronic headaches ( probably not migraines, but severe - pressure above and behind her eyes. Rarely, she will get out of the shower and have to lay down saying she feels like she was going to pass out. Seems to have some type of chronic fatigue - not daily, though. Something new has occurred and it s hard to describe. Here goes: Last 2 evenings, once standing in kitchen, the other while walking she had the sensation of her brain dropping about half an inch or so and then a little dizziness and heavy legs followed by slight nausea. Both times she had to sit down. The 1st time, the symptoms other than very slight dizziness subsided after awhile. Last night when it happened it was at bedtime. She slepted normally but seems to be really fatigued today. I m wondering if she is worrying herself into this fatigue which I understand. She drove to and attended church and then visited a patient at a hospital and drove home. She has recently (30-60 days) had Stelara injections at her Dr. s office for plaque psoriasis (sp,) she has a Mirena device in her vagina for birth control (for 5 years) and took 1/2 mg of xanax at bedtime for sleep for about 2-3 months but stopped taking the xanax 2 months ago. Sorry so long winded but thought you needed all the info.

Mirena intrauterine device (IUD) contains levonorgestrel which belongs to the group of hormonal medications known as progestins is used to prevent pregnancy for long period and treat heavy menstrual bleeding. Side effects of Mirena IUD are headache, dizziness, fatigue, unusual tiredness and weakness, sweating, dry mouth, irregular uterine bleeding, mood swings, depression, changes in sleep pattern, breast tenderness and enlargement, acnes, delayed wound healing, changes in body weight, vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, allergic reactions etc.

If these side effects persist for long or bother your wife, then she should inform her first for medical attention.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
