General & Family Physician 's  Response
Nasal allergy is known to cause extended symptoms in throat and ears because it composites upper respiratory tract.
Nasal allergy results in swelling and congestion of nasal mucosa and may extend to the throat as well. Since the eustachian tube opening is in close proximity in throat and it connects with middle ear, the allergic symptoms can extend right uptill there.
Involvement of eustachian tube causes blockage of and inadequate drainage of secretions from middle ear. Accumulation of this will cause pain in the ears.
If left unattended, you may land up with otitus media - infection of middle ear.
You can use decongestant tablets or syrup along with an anti allergic drug to overcome this problem.
