Hello,
Since you have history of chronic asthma and now are experiencing skipped heart beat, you are suggested to avoid stress and take adequate sleep. Avoid addictions (alcohol, smoking, caffeine, etc), take home made food and avoid rich and spicy food. Stay away from any food that causes you
allergy or triggers
acid reflux. Asthma patients on medications are at a higher risk of getting cardiac diseases like atrial
fibrillation, irregular heart beats, cardiovascular conditions like
heart attack or stroke.
You are suggested to do regular walking, control weight if obese, cut on sugars and carbs, red meat,
trans fat, full fat dairy products, etc. Take more of leafy greens, veggies, berries, fruits, nuts, lean meat, omega 3 fatty acids, whole cereals. In a nutshell take balanced home made food. Get clinically examined by a cardiologist, get routine cardiac function tests done to stay on the safer side. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
