General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Spurs are tiny bony growths caused by local inflammation, mostly due to degenerative changes in arthritis. Pain can be controlled by local fomentation, over the counter pill like Ibugesic. It needs surgical removal with constant trouble hampering daily activities.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
