What Make My Stomach Distended And Tender?

My husbands stomach is distended and tender in some areas. I am in nursing school but I am just wondering what it could be besides gas build up. He has been experiencing this for 3 days now non stop.

He has a DVT hx and he has been on warfarin daily for the past 3 years. He is 39, 5'7" and 215lbs. He started a diet a few days ago. Could it be because of that?

welcome to Health care magic.
1.Similar symptoms are seen in gastro-enteritis, bowel pathology - ischemic, or any obstructive pathology.
2.Keeping your DVT history its better to get investigated as zoo as possible.
3.If you are my patient, i would have start with a erect abdomen x-ray to find out any acute cause like obstruction.
4.An ultrasound abdomen to narrow down the diagnosis and rule out other causes.
5.And i would recommend to see your treating doctor as a followup to evaluate your blood condition.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
