Dear HCM user

Sleeping more than usual could be a body's way of dealing with stress. As you have unfortunately lost your mother recently it could be part of grief reaction after loss of loved one. However if along with this you feel low, have pessimistic thoughts, have loss of appetite, have rights of hopelessness, worthlessness you maybe having depression that is easily treatable. If you are on any long term medication that needs to be reviewed. Also some routine tests like CBC, Thyroid, LFT, RFT are needed to rule out common nutrional and hormonal cause of such lethargy and sleepiness. If you don't have memory disturbances especially for recent events or no mood changes Alzhiemer's seems unlikely. I hope your anxieties are addressed.
