What Medical Condition Causes Abdominal Bloating And Nausea?

I have had stomach bloating for two weeks along with nausea. I also have gas and belching. I can only eat a small amount of food and I’m full. I’ve had blood work and a c scan that came back normal. Seeing a gastro dr. In two weeks. Any idea what this could be?

Hi,

There are a lot of possible causes for your symptoms. Howe'ver if it's only for two weeks, then gastritis seems to be the most probable cause. A 2 weeks history makes any serious cause unlikely.

We generally advise such patients to take an antacid for 2 weeks and to follow. We may do further tests like H. pylori testing or endoscopy if symptoms don't resolve but I hope it would be fine.

Avoid sweets and spicy foods. Other possible causes include gallstones, liver problems, or infection but they are unlikely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
