Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM!

I read your question carefully and understand your concern.

I would like to say that swelling is not a sign related to any neurological disorders.

Your symptoms may be related to an inflammatory autoimmune disorderlike arthritis or connective tissue disorders.

I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical examination, a routine blood test, inflammation tests (PCR, fibrinogen, sedimentation), kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes etc.

A nerve conduction study may be necessary to exclude possible polyneuropathy.

Hope to have been of help!

Best wishes,
Dr. Aida
