What Medication Is Suggested For Aso Level Of 565?

Hi, my aso level is 565. I ve had a history of strep all my life and about 10 years ago my tonsils were removed. Since then i don t get strep as often but I will still get it occasionally. Three months ago I took blood and my aso count was 489. I was put on clindomycin for 10 days. I just retook my blood and my level is now 565. What should I do?

Hello,

Antistreptolysin antibodies peak in your system between three to eight weeks after a strep infection. Levels can remain high for several months. Your doctor can determine if your symptoms are due to a post-streptococcal complication by checking your antibody levels.

So if high antibodies means may lead to rheumatic fever, endocarditis or glomerulonephritis.

To rule out above problems you may have to consult your rheumatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
