What Medication Is Suggested For Dark Patches Due To Psoriasis?

Currently, for the first time in five years my psoriasis is subsiding. I am currently hoping that I can continue with the system of colliodal oatmeal, steroid creams and moisterisers will continue to smooth my skin. However the patches that were previously covered are now discoloured and darker than before (scar tissue). My question is, what can you recommend to reduce this colour difference?

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

The dark patches are actually post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH); the patches can persist for some time after psoriasis plaques have resolved.
Resolution is the rule for these PIH patches; ultimately they blend with the surrounding skin.
Topically you may continue with the moisturizer over the affected area regularly. Steroid cream would also help to lighten the patches.
An Oral Vitamin C supplement once daily would hasten there resolution as well.
