What Medication Is Suggested For Slight Heaviness In Upper Chest?

I have had a slight heaviness in my upper chest. Started with that and bloatedness in my stomach. It also goes up into my throat. Dr. did an EKG and thorough physical and everything came out okay. Have been burping more than usual. Dr said it is gas, take Gas X. Today is Wed and went to the Dr Monday afternoon. Gas X hasn't helped much, not burping anymore than I was. Bloatedness in my stomach has gone dowm alot, but still have the funny feeling in my chest and throat. Feel great otherwise. Could it be I need more time to release the gas??? its all coming out by burping, not the rectal way.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you are mostly having GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
It is due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. Because of this the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause the symptoms of bloating, burping, chest discomfort, throat pain etc.
Along with drugs, you need to follow these lifestyle modifications for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid stress and tension.
2. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
3. Go for walking after meals.
4. Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.
5. Keep 2 - 3 pillows under head in the bed to prevent reflux.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
