What Might Be The Problem Having Bleeding After The PP Bleeding Has Stopped?
I recently had my first baby a little over 5 weeks ago. My pp bleeding stopped around 4 weeks and I returned to work 5 weeks to the day after I delivered. On day 2 back to work I noticed i started bleeding again. At first it was light but has got progressively worse. I am nursing and dont seem to have cramps with the bleeding so I wouldnt think its a period but not sure what else might be causing this. Do you have any suggestions what it might be and at what point should I go see my doctor? My 6 week appt is in 5 days, am I ok to wait that long?
You should keep an eye ion the bleeding, if it is really heavy, like you are soaking through pads every hour or two and it is not stopping, especially if you have a lot of pain and cramping with it, then you should call your doctor right away.
However, if it is not that heavy and it is no worse than just a bad period, than it probably is just your first period. Although breastfeeding often prevents you from having periods, some women will have a period this early even when they are breastfeeding. Furthermore, the first period after having a baby is often heavier than usual. If that is the case, it shouldn't be a problem to wait until your appointment in five days. I hope this helps
