Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have severe cauda equina with numbness from waist down, including no sexual function bowel & bladder incontinence (bladder gushes everywhere - bowel chronically constipated alternating with incontinence after large doses of aperients) chronic pain & mobility issues. I recently have experienced a prolapse of both bladder & uterus (to opening of vagina) & weakening of back wall of vagina.I have been scheduled for surgery next week, which will include a full hysterectomy as well as fixing prolapses...my question is this.. my insurance is saying they will cover me for the fixing of prolapse - but not for hysterectomy as they believe that this is not related to my condition of cauda equina....however information i was given on the day refers to constant pressure caused by constipation/straining, etc to be a factor - they are saying that it is more a menopausal issue which they will not cover (even though early menopause was brought on by trauma).. can you clarify this please......many thanks
